Coloursfest 2009 Offical Promo Trailer

Scotland's premier dance festival, Coloursfest, is back again for the 8th year running. June 6th 2009 will see clubbing giants from around the world join forces at Braehead Arena & Waterfront to give revelers 10 hours of the finest dance music around. The festival has been a sell-out for the last 5 years as people from all over the country travel to experience a dance event in the most unique of locations. This years line up is set to create another roadblock as outstanding international acts line up to take the stage.

Colours and Inside Out, two of Scotland's biggest players on the scene, once again host the main arena. Headlining the arena is the superstar DJ Ferry Corsten; the Dutchman is currently creating a new concept arena show in conjunction with the release of his recent album 'Twice in a Blue Moon'. The lucky Coloursfest crowd will get a preview of this spectacular show as the production team plan to showcase the concept in a 2 hour set from Ferry. The whole arena will be taken head on by Holland?s finest production team, something never seen at Coloursfest before.
Fresh new addition Gatecrasher Summer Sound System will be hosting the outdoor stage, always a highlight with festivalgoers. Judge Jules will be making his annual appearance at Coloursfest with a set in both the main arena and outdoor stage. Techno is back at Coloursfest as Mauro Picotto brings his Meganite brand to arena 3, with a selection of DJs handpicked by the man himself.

To celebrate Streetrave's 20th anniversary year in 2009, arena 4 is home to big room classic tunes with sets from legends such as Rozalla, Alison Limerick and Together plus a special guest appearance by Hooligan X. Things promise to get messy in arena 4 as Tidy supplies the Coloursfest crowd with some of the finest names in hard dance. Arena 6 is where you?ll find all the hardcore ravers as Back to the Future brings the cream of the crop to the masses. Ultra-sonic, Art of Fighters and Hyberbass are just some of the acts guaranteed to set your dancing shoes alight.

January 10, 2008 (London, UK) It is the must attend event in the iGaming social diary as the industry gathers for its largest networking event and party kicks. Now in its 7th year, Lyceum Media’s annual Fire & Ice Party will host over 1,200 iGaming executives and professionals at London’s Hippodrome for networking, socializing, drinking and dancing — from 9:00PM into the wee hours.

The historic Hippodrome has been transformed from a modern venue favored for film premiers and celebrity bashes into a 1920’s-style cabaret. Live Cabaret Entertainers will provide entertainment throughout the night as they intersperse between DJ sessions and sessions at the open bar and shot bars.

“This year’s event was a challenge”, said Lyceum’s Michael Caselli. “We had to create an event that would WOW industry veterans who have been part of our annual party since 2002. However, we also needed to make it network-friendly enough for newcomers to the industry to benefit from Fire & Ice’s unique social atmosphere. In essence, our goal was to create the greatest event on the iGaming calendar but an event that made sure everyone could meet and deals could get sparked.”

Jodie Thind, Managing Partner at Lyceum Media, and Producer of the event added, “On top of that, we had to make sure that the event stayed true to the original reason we invented it. In 1998, the iGaming executives weren’t welcome at land-based industry events – we were like lepers. So Fire & Ice was the iGaming industry’s response. The recently released Fantazia Showtime Event DVD will be the last Fantazia DVD by Nocturnal Media and possibly our last full live event DVD ever.

We have had great fun working with so many legendary artists and it was awesome seeing the hardcore scene so busy and vibrant when it is fast approaching nearly 20 years when it all began!

Both DVDs from the last 3 events are still available from this site and the merchandising stall at the September Fantazia.

There were so many highlights, stories and experiences filming/editing the DVDs that I cant possibly remember them all.

I will still be producing videos for the clubbing scene and at present im fully concentrating on the accompanying DVD for the new album from Scott Brown, LIVEWIRED - which will be a documentary feature on Scott following him on hectic Easter Weekend schedule with everything that happens.

Nocturnal began cutting their teeth filming parties and events many moons ago at the legendary FNUK boat parties upon the Dixie Queen up and down the River Thames.

To celebrate the return of FNUK with three boat parties coming this summer we have dug out the last of the 4 FNUK DVDs and hosted the main feature online.

Back The FNUK is a collection of the events held throughout 2005 and provides some more background on the people who run the parties.

Some footage from the older parties will be online also nearer the time of the July and September events.

We are pleased to announce that we have begun work on a new project for the official DVD for hardcore DJ, Scott Brown.

The DVD will cover Scott DJ'ing across Europe and provide a behind the scenes insight to his career as a prolific hardcore producer and DJ over the last 20 years.

We have already filmed in Amsterdam (Scumworld) a few weeks back and will be filming at the following events, Easter Weekend:

Friday 6th April - Twisted & Brainfire, Glasgow (uk style)

Saturday 7th April - Tranzmission, London (uk style & hard)

Sunday 8th April - B2S, Rotterdam (old school)

Make sure you find the camera and get your face on it.... We'll be doing public and dj interviews, background to his life, and the general mayhem he has to go through to make gigs every weekend. There'll be a lot of stuff on there that you'll never normally get to see, and probably a lot that will surprise you.... Lots of brand new music will also be featured on the DVD and accompanying CD mix album.

Last chance to get on the new LIVEWIRED DVD.

The last filming session will be at Expressions, Dorchester Hotel, Beverley Road, HULL tomorrow (Friday 20th April). This is the final night of shooting before the footage goes to the editing suite so make sure you come along!

Fantazia Showtime Filming

Despite it being the third time Nocturnal have filmed one of the Fantazia events it is always an amazing experience which just continues to get better each time.

Its January 2007, everybody should be poor and stuck in at home watching Cr*p Idol eating a Chinese, but in Scotland they decide that what is needed to lift everyone from the January blues is a 7000 strong people sell out rave featuring a mixture of some of the best Old Skool DJs and live performances, and this, the third installment of Fantazia's return, was by the far the best yet.

Performances from US legends Lenny Dee & Frankie Bones educated the young crowd alongside the likes of Altern 8, N-Joi, Stu Allan, Dj Vibes, Scott Brown, Mallorca Lee, Ultrasonic and many more.

The film crew introuduced a new member, interviewer Danni Murphy (below), and also added 3 more cameras including one crane mounted for more spectacular shots of the event.

The DVD will be ready for general release inside six weeks and will finally feature LIVE footage and audio after collaborations with the artists were made, so expect tunes from the like of Lenny D, Bass Generator, Mallorca Lee, Scott Brown and Tom Wilson.

Despite it being held in January, notoriously the quietest clubbing month of the year, Fantazia Showtime has completely sold out a week before the event

The Nocturnal Film Crew will be in attendance once again to film for an upcoming DVD.

Nocturnal are bringing even more cameras than the last event, a camera crane for sweeping crowd shots high in the air, a recognized presenter to interview the crowd and the DJs and a designated photographer for the slideshows.

After heaving investment in our two new studios, Nocturnal are looking to release the DVD within 6 weeks of the event.

Filming & DVD of next Fantazia: Showtime confirmed

Nocturnal will be kicking off the new year by filming at the third installment of the Fantazia comeback, the Fantazia Showtime event on January 27th 2007.

The latest DVD will be looking to build upon the recently released Fantazia 2006 production with the introduction of a dedicated presenter and interviewer, the lovely Danni Murphy, two more cameramen into the fray who will be using steadicam and crane technology to get even more spectacular footage of the event which finally includes the Fantazia Lazer Light Show!

As usual all of the filming will be in Hi-Definition for the best quality production.

Fantazia again brings back some legendary names from the old skool scene such as Altern 8, Njoi, Bizarre Inc, Unknown, Stu Allan, Vibes, Frankie Bones & Lenny Dee amongst the new hardcore pioneers Hixxy, Sharkey, Gammer, Scott Brown and many others.

The House Classics arena continues to grow in strength with apperances from Graeme Park, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Lisa Unique, Jon Mancini & Robbo.

Nocturnal Media are please to announce that the Official Fantazia DVD 2006 is now ready for general release.

Fantazia was established back in 1991. The company grew quickly and in 1992 they held 6 massive legal raves as well as a host of Club Tour dates. The scale & amount of the parties has never been equaled. The company also were the pioneers behind the club music CD format with the huge success of The House Collection and set up a massively successful record label, 2 millions sales were to follow.....

It has been 13 years since Fantazia put on events of this scale and they burst back onto the scene in 2006 with two huge raves held at the Braehead Arena in Scotland fusing the old skool format which they are synonymous for, with the new hardcore sound dominating the Scottish dancefloors and beyond.

After numerous problems, issues, setbacks etc etc and many many hours and late nights and weekends with barely any sleep at all we have are relieved to finally announce that the Official Fantazia DVD 2006 is all finished and should be available in 10-14 days time, (its being glass mastered and produced in the far east right now - hoping for Monday 11th December).

The DVD comprises of 2 main sections - The Legend Returns & Into the Wonderland with main features of both the main events featuring live performances such as The Dream Frequency, Digital Commandos & The Rhythmic State alongside footage from all the arenas of the crowd, dancers, mc's and DJs.

The features are set to music from artists such as Marc Smith, Slipmatt, Digital Commandos, The Sunset Regime, Wax Doctor, Jack N Phil, Hyperbass and The Dream Frequency.

In each section there are photo slideshows from Fastpix, the best chosen from an archive of approx 3000 per event! Each section also has exclusive interviews with SL2, Ellis Dee, Ratpack, Dream Frequency, Hixxy, MC Storm, Brandon Block and many others.

There is also an out-takes section and a hidden extra somewhere on the disc that you will have to hunt down.

Fantazia DVD Studio Update

The Official Fantazia DVD that covers both of this years events is nearing completion as we face our last week in the studio before the master copy is
reproduced so that the release will be available from Friday December 1st.

The DVD is on a dual layer disc covering both the January "The Legend Returns" and the September "Into the Wonderland" events. Expect plenty of slideshows, out-takes, behind the scenes footage and exclusive DJ/MC Interviews with the likes of Hixxy, Ratpack, SL2, Allistair Whitehead, Ellis Dee and many others.

The accompanying soundtrack features tracks from Marc Smith, N-Joi, Slipmatt, The Rhythmic State, Digital Commandos, Dream Frequency and Sunset Regime.

Fantazia into the Wonderland Filming/DVD confirmed!

Nocturnal will be filming the upcoming Fantazia into the Wonderland event at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow on Saturday September 30th.

Following the success of the comeback event held in January this year things look set to continue with a mixture of Old Skool, Hardcore and Club Classics in what is sure to be a sellout event.

Live PA's such as Baby D & SL2 will be performing alongside DJs such as Ellis Dee, Easygroove, Paul Elstak as well as Jeremy Healy, Allister Whitehead and John Kelly.

Additional good news is that the previously filmed Fantazia Returns DVD that never looked likely to be released is now confirmed and will be released as part of a double DVD pack with the Wonderland event. More details to follow!

Coloursfest '06 DVD Released

The Official Coloursfest '06 DVD will be available next week!

Featuring footage of the BBC Radio 1 Outdoor Arena, Hed Kandi and the Main Arena including DJs such as Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Armin Van Buuren and Fergie amongst many others all to a stonking soundtrack from Mallorca Lee.

Over 30 minutes of extras include Photo Slideshows, Interviews and Out-takes.

Coloursfest Filming/DVD News

The Nocturnal team were at Glasgow on Saturday June 3 to film the amazing Coloursfest event in corporation with Radio 1's Essential Mix.

Some of the best DJs on the planet such as Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Timo Maas, David Guetta and many others entertained the 12000 strong crowd in six arenas.

The event was broadcast live across the nation on BBC Radio 1 with mixes from Paul Van Dyk, Fergie, Eddie Halliwell, Dave Pearce and Judge Jules.

More news on the Coloursfest DVD will be released soon but expected a first class soundtrack from the DJs at the event and many exclusive interviews with them.

Semana Santa - Cabarete - Dominican Republic

Even when Nocturnal are supposed to taking it a little easier when out filming for a surf school in the Dominican Republic it seems that a huge party is never far away and the cameras have to come out at night time too!

Not planned at all but the 3 weeks out here have coincided with the Semana Santa (Easter) celebrations and Cabarete was transformed to a virtual standstill of partygoers culminating in a huge beach party hosted by some of the best DJ's in the Caribbean.
All companies are closed and everyone somehow manages to get themselves to the coast and celebrate this holiday week with plenty of music and rum.

The footage filmed was of CEMF 2006 for the group Los Hermanos including local Dominican DJs Hansel and DJ Scoy. It will be featued soon on the mix showthat would be great as well! The filming of the forthcoming Coloursfest on June 3rd in Glasgow by Nocturnal Media has now been confirmed.

Returning now for it's 5th year, Coloursfest'06 is announcing a new ground breaking partnership with BBC Radio 1!
Coloursfest'06 will for the first time be broadcast across the UK on Radio 1 with presenters Judge Jules and Fergie coming live from the event as well as a live Essential Mix!

Fantazia Official Big Bang 2 DVD available in April

The official Fantazia DVD from the Big Bang 2 event at the Braehead Arena on the 28th of January this year is finally near completiton and will be ready for release in the first weeks of April.

Many thanks to Chris Reason who won the DVD menu design competiton an example of which is pictured here and also to Brian Hayes of Fastpix whose photos are in the slideshow section of the extras.

Expect a Remix version by the end of the year, possibly in time just before the next event back in Glasgow, which will be a completley new production available on Hi-Definition format so it can be seen as it was originally filmed.

DVD Menu Design Competition!

For all you budding artists out there this is your chance for your designs to be featured on the official DVD from the last event.

We are looking for the best still image menu designs that the user navigates their way around the DVD with.

Menus are:

Main Menu
Slideshow Menu
Dj Mixes Menu
Extras Menu

They need to comply with widescreen PAL which is:720x576 300dpi and its best to use guides when designing so that the main detail is kept within the title save regions for dvd.

You need to bear in mind that spaces need to be left for buttons, titles, logos etc. If you need photos from the event and logos please email us and we will send out a cd.

Fantazia DVD Production well under way.....

The official Fantazia DVD is well under way in production as we speak, all of the live audio from the main room featuring DJs and PA's such as Slipmatt, Scott Brown, N-Joi, Ultrasonic, Top Buzz and Ratpack has now been received and will form the audio soundtrack for the main feature.

The photo slideshow extras on the disc have now been completed featuring over 300 superb photos from Brian Hayes of Fastpix Photography, with backing tracks from Ultrasonic, Q-Tex, N-Joi and Hyperbass.

The DVD itself will comprise of a main feature of the night, a remix of the footage featuring a DJ set from Madman taking you on a journey of all the nights dj's and pa's music styles, interviews and more.

We are currently aiming for a release in the last week of March, check back soon for more updates and another teaser trailer soon.

Fantazia Teaser Trailer #1

Today sees the release of the first of the Fantazia - The Legend Returns Teaser Trailers for the forthcoming DVD out this March by Nocturnal Media.

This brief two minute clip is a tiny snippet of the finished version which will contain audio live from the night, here we have used a backing track - which is the excellent Rock Da Crowd from Re-Con.
The file is a 15mb MPEG4 file that can be played using Quicktime and can also be uploaded straight to your PSP, I-Pod Video or other portable video player. (NEW LINK UP BELOW!)

Fantazia - The Legend Returns @ Brahead Arena, Glasgow 28th January 2006

A hectic weekend as we travelled from our temporary studio in Solihull back to base in Maidstone, Kent Friday night, then onwards to Glasgow Saturday morning to film the event "Fantazia - The Legend Returns" at the Braehead Arena (below)

It has been 13 years since Fantazia put on an event of this scale and we were delighted to learn a few weeks before that we would be filming and creating the DVD.

The event itself was amazing with just over 10000 people in attendance, the majority of our filming was conducted on the main stage where legendary old skool DJs and PA's appeared such as Slipmatt, Top Buzz, Ratpack, N-Joi and Shades of Rhythm.

Being our first visit to Scotland we were greeted by some of the most friendly and lively crowd you are ever likely to see, they are truly a crazy bunch who cant get enough of the music, filming nigh on 8000 people bouncing up and down was an awe-inspiring experience.

We are currently planning to release the DVD from this event late Feb/early March and will keep you all updated via this page and this will be the very first place you will be able to get your hands on a few teaser trailers we will be putting out in the coming weeks.

Thanks again to all the promoters, djs, mcs, pas and other staff who made us feel very welcome and hepled in every way they could so we could get the best possible footage on the night.
